Technology plays a major role in making your experience with Dr. Hamlett special and unique. Dr. Hamlett and his team are committed to providing you with advanced treatment and to ensuring your comfort and satisfaction by using tools that promote pain-free treatment and fast healing. Experience dramatic changes in your smile and your dental health.
Biolase ezlase
Biolase laser technology allows for greater comfort and efficiency in performing manipulations or in the recontouring of soft tissue. Biolase lasers require less pain management, promote faster healing, and are less invasive than traditional lasers. By taking advantage of laser technology, Dr. Hamlett is able to perform delicate procedures, while reducing your feelings of fear and anxiety that come with older techniques.
DIAGNOdent®
The DIAGNOdent® is a small, portable laser that allows us to find cavities on the chewing surfaces of back teeth — even when they are just beginning and would have been missed by previous detection methods. The value is that we can stop cavities in their infancy, whereas in the past they would have to be significantly bigger before we could find and treat them. Just like other areas of medicine and dentistry, early detection and treatment is of immeasurable value in preserving your health.
CEREC™ is a technological system that allows for the fabrication of all-ceramic tooth restorations in a single visit. Many restorations require several visits to the dentist, but with CEREC's™ system, a natural-looking restoration, that has many of the properties of natural teeth, can be custom created for you in less time, assuring you of a more comfortable dental experience. You can be just an appointment away from the smile of your dreams.
Digital Radiographs (or X-Rays)
Digital radiographs are a technological advancement that results in less exposure to radiation for our patients and an almost instantaneous picture for our dentists. Unlike traditional, film-based radiographs, digital radiographs often show more detail and can be archived in our system for future reference and comparison. You will appreciate a more comfortable visit with less waiting and quicker treatment.
IntraOral Camera
An intraoral camera lets you see inside your mouth during both treatment planning and dental procedures. Our intraoral camera displays your teeth on a video screen, allowing Dr. Hamlett to walk you through your proposed treatment. The use of this camera allows us to work with you as a team to meet your dental care goals. We are happy to answer any questions you may have and to discuss your treatment options with you. We want you to picture how your appearance will improve with dental care, giving you all the more reason to smile.
Digital Photography
Digital photography gives Dr. Hamlett instant images to use during your treatment. Dr. Hamlett can use the photos to explain exactly what you can expect during your visit. Digital images also can be saved electronically for future reference and are more efficient than traditional photographs that show less detail and must be taken off-site for development.
Sedation Dentistry
If you are anxious about visiting the dentist, you don't need to continue missing out on having a healthy, beautiful smile. Dr. Hamlett offers sedation dentistry as a solution for you, giving you an opportunity to experience incredible, focused care with no worrying! For oral sedation, Dr. Hamlett will prescribe a sedative in pill form that you will take prior to your appointment. An oral sedative has light-to-moderate effects, and will usually leave you feeling very relaxed but still able to respond to Dr. Hamlett during your procedure. The effects usually linger for a while after your treatment, so you will need to arrange a ride home.
I.V. Sedation Dentistry
If you would prefer, Dr. Hamlett can utilize an IV to administer the sleeping agent. I.V. sedation is usually stronger than oral sedation, and you will feel its effects almost immediately. An anesthesiologist can easily control the administration of the sedative, and often, you will be asleep during your treatment. When you awaken, your treatment will be complete, and you'll feel comfortable and relaxed. With the availability of sedation dentistry, there is simply no need to avoid the dental treatment you need and deserve.
The Wand
The Wand is a pen-like anesthetic delivery system that is faster, more precise, and more comfortable than traditional needle and syringe "shots." By delivering the anesthetic at a controlled rate, the Wand avoids the rush of anesthetic through the needle point, which is typically to blame for discomfort and pain in traditional shots. Technology like the Wand helps make your experience with Dr. Hamlett especially relaxing and unique.
OraVerse®
OraVerse® is a breakthrough product that reverses the numbing effects of anesthesia. When you receive certain dental treatments, Dr. Hamlet will use a local anesthetic to ensure your comfort. For some patients, the numbing effects of anesthesia linger for a short while after your visit ends. Your speech, your smile, and your ability to eat or drink can be affected. With OraVerse®, you can get back to your regular life quickly and comfortably. Ask Dr. Hamlet if OraVerse® is an option during your recommended treatment.
Tekscan is a pressure-mapping technology used to check bite pressures after you have had restorative dental work. By utilizing this technology, Dr. Hamlett is able to ensure that your bite is natural and comfortable, which helps prevent tension in the jaw and muscles of the face and neck.
